FOR THE WELLBEING OF WOMEN
Twilling Tweeds and Kilcheran ( not-for-profit Social Enterprise) are embarking on a self-sustaining, long-term project in partnership with the women of Chitral. Isolated, mountainous, and strikingly beautiful, the Chitral region of northern Pakistan faces unique and complex social challenges, particularly for women.
Mahraka, which means a gathering of people will be a community training hub. The Centre will run a variety of creative educational workshops, apprentice style training opportunities and mentoring in skills and personal development.
Mahraka will be established in partnership with key institutions in Pakistan. Kilcheran will facilitate the project utilizing their Social Enterprise Model that has already been piloted since 2002, in conjunction with a “Chitral Focus Team” and a virtual team of facilitators from across Pakistan and the UK.
